About NTQUK

NTQUK was established under our former name of NVQUK in 2000

Our aim has always been to provide the health and social care sector with high quality and effective training programmes to positively transform the service provided in each care setting. Over the past decade our efforts have seen NTQUK grow to become the leading provider of accredited qualification programmes (including Apprenticeships) to the care sector. We have also widened our target audience to include the National Health Service. Working with health service partners is in fact an unsurprising extension as our founders are both former NHS managers themselves.

Put simply, NTQUK are experts in work-based learning. Our learning models can be adapted with employers to suit a variety of subject areas and our focus is always on quality. We understand what employers seek to help their workforce develop and become more effective and we understand the opportunities and barriers that individuals can envisage when embarking on a learning programme. For this reason we were awarded a Grade 2 at our last Ofsted inspection in September 2009 when we were the first national company inspected under the new Common Inspection Framework.

Our Company Values are central to the way we work with learners, employers, stakeholders, and of course our own staff teams. We are committed to:

  • Customer focus
  • Excellence
  • Treating others with unconditional positive regard
  • Development and well-being of our staff

The success of NTQUK has come about through ongoing consultation and partnership working with employers, Sector Skills Councils, regulators, funding bodies such as the Skills Funding Agency, our awarding body partner Edexcel and most vitally many thousands of our learners.

As we move forward, new strands of our business are emerging. The Skills@Work suite of short courses has evolved following feedback from our original care sector customers. This epitomises how NTQUK wishes to become a specialist in those areas we work in – we really do strive to make a difference to businesses and individuals. Similarly in 2010 we opened our first Academy, inviting young people to embark on a full apprenticeship  training programme with the benefit of a training work placement arranged by NTQUK so that they can demonstrate their skills and go on to succeed in their chosen career.
